WHAT YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT MARKETING

I thought marketing was a tool that only companies used to sell their products. But now it has a totally new and different concept and applies to more things than I thought ...

Marketing is not only used to potencialize the sales of a product, but also as a way to sell and potencialize the position in the market of a brand, a person, an ideology, a service or simply to improve the way the target market is called or teach the way to enjoy a product and live an experience.

But, Who would like to sell or positionate an ideology, a service or even a person? Well, here we will see some examples of them:

  • Positioning a Person is something done by someone by themselve or by a company to generate profits:

  • Positioning an Ideology is more frecuent in the political field

Donald Trump during his political campaing to run as president of the United States was intending to positionate his Republican Ideology with his famous slogan "Make America Great Again"

  • Positioning a service is frequently seen in digital companies

Spotify wants to positionate their music platform, as well as Uber on its transport field

Now we know the different usages of Marketing and the broad amount of business fields it can be applied. Is clear that as well as the product, the brand and the administration, the marketing strategies that a company or a person applicates to their business is crucial to determinate a constant growth and success. At this moment we are wondering ¿How can we make a successfull marketing strategy? We have to know and perfectionate the 4 different parts that conforms it.

To talk more in dept about marketing and all its content, first we need to have a little concept of market, market place, costumer and product (All this concepts have been quoted from the American Marketing Association web page)

  • Market: Is the transaction between the seller and the costumer. Demand of a product
  • Market place: Different palces people can go shopping and get a product or a service

  • Costumer: Can be a single person or a group of people who need something and have the purchase power to adquirirlo.

  • Product: anything that can be offered in the market for its adquisicion, usage and consumption in order to satisfy needs and wants.

Why do I need to know all this ?

All this concepts are going to be used in the process I explain you how to implement a marketing strategy
