Is Taxation Theft?

Paying taxes hurts.

Every year we work hard to have a decent life, however the more money you make more you give it away to the governments. Paying taxes really hurt, specially if you relay on the public health care system like my parents.

My dad needs a surgery and It's been two years waiting to get it done, however we keep paying taxes but nothing changes. In the other hand we pay taxes to provide retirement money, but how long that is gonna last, a good example right now is Nicaragua or Venezuela.

Is Taxation Theft?

This depend of the criteria of every individual, some agreed to pay every year, others don't feel they need to. What I really think about taxation is that It should be voluntary or under cooperation. I also believe that if an citizen pay taxes at least the medical system should work, but that doesn't happen in Panama.

Thanks for reading my post. See you in my next post. 😚💋

hmmm...The discussion of taxation is a loaded one. The thing to remember is that the only way for governments to bring in money is via taxation. Without the collection of taxes governments would cease to exist. I believe that government (on a small scale) serves a legitimate purpose... However the balance between satisfactory and all out greed is a fine one.

People think that corporations are greedy when they increase their profit margins to what they believe the market can bare... But what about governments? Is 30% taxation to much? What about 40% taxation? 50%? At what point does it become greed? This is something I have been thinking and discussing with my business group... Greed is a VERY hard thing to determine because it is an individual thing that relates to ones context. What is ambition, helping a lot of people and mitigating risk via profit motive is greed to another... Greed is a VERY hard thing to define...

I think that when you are paying for something it helps to get an itemized list of what your getting for your hard earned money... This, I believe, is where the idea of taxation begins to break down and feel more like a slave system especially when it is the government that issues the money in the first place via quantitative easing...

Perhaps it is time for a new version of freedom to be born... Rather than democracy by representation... perhaps it should be democracy by itemized consensus. I envision a world where people vote directly on the things they care about... and they do so by voluntarily directing money towards those policies. (Even if we still had a fixed tax rate at least we could determine where we would like that money to be spent and how.) This could be done with programmable money like Etherium where we vote on the things we care about and the money that is directed goes to the people (government, contractors, etc.) required to make that thing a reality. As soon as the government agent complies and completes to the satisfaction of the people who payed for the service the money would automatically be released to them for a job well done.

This sort of sounds like how Steemit works doesn't it? lol!

Does anyone else have anything they would like to add?

And by the way! @anahilarski Thank you for bringing up this discussion... This is something that is painful for so many people and it's definitely important for people to begin discussing these very real issues. I hope that your dad gets the surgery he needs very soon... I feel your pain because I know that nothing is more important than health. I know that the options money could buy would likely change the situation...

I'm wishing you and your father the very best in health and wealth!

Yes it is.. but I still pay it 🙁

Where i live i think we get taxed on tax🤣. Things are getting completely ridiculas as our gouvernments continue to suck the middle class dry. While they spend, spend, spend. Not good at all....

may my brother's father recover, the tax is very burdensome citizens, because there are also many patterns of injustice in the payment of taxes.

To the question in your title, my Magic 8-Ball says:

Taxation is theft and an euphemistic phrase for slavery. If a person takes 100% of the fruits of someone's labor, people understand that as a master slave relationship. If a group of people call themselves government, and they take 25% of the fruits of a person's labor, what is it called? Slavery! What percentage would not make it slavery? 0 and only 0! It's morally wrong (natural law) to allow someone to steal from you and others while they can limit your movement. But somehow, people have been programmed that if you don't let a group of thugs steal from you, you are morally wrong. Humans can NEVER write laws for other humans. Those laws are, have been, and always will be with us. They are known as natural law and everybody has 100% equality when you follow them, and they are the only moral laws that have ever existed and will for eternity!

The scenery is very beautiful behind you,I love a place like this.

Taxes have been created to make us believe that there are certain services that can only be provided by the State so we must pay for them, if not we go to jail. Actually, taxes are used to finance the waste and violence promoted by the political class who live better than royalty surrounded by luxuries thanks to public funds. I don’t know any politician who is poor. Do you?

So taxation is theft! There is no doubt about it.
