10 skills every entrepreneur should have

in #money7 years ago (edited)

Learning is an ability and the success of an entrepreneur depends on its ability to learn quickly, to acquire new knowledge and to put it into practice in daily work.

I could say, to be successful as an entrepreneur, you need to have a very high dose of trust, inexhaustible: trust in your strengths, trust that at some point, although you may not entertain success, it will appear and bring you endless satisfactions.

Here are 10 skills every entrepreneur should have

1. Independent spirit

This is the most important quality that an entrepreneur need to have, a continuous start to activities that give him freedom and fulfillment; an entrepreneur will never feel fulfilled in an environment where his initiatives are not appreciated, in which he will not be allowed to put his ideas into practice; an entrepreneur continually seeks to be his own master, to take on increased risks and responsibilities.

2. Self-confidence

Believe in your own strengths, because often you have to make the best decision for yourself, employees, collaborators, family; you do not have to hesitate, you have to be inspire confidence for others. On the other hand, you also have to trust the team you have formed and work with, because only together you can get the success.

3. Ability to manage money

Everything is very simple - if you are not able to manage the money you have at the moment, then you will not be able to develop and run a business. Try to answer the following questions: Do you know how you spend your money monthly? Spend less than you earn? If you answered "NO" to these questions, then as an entrepreneur you will encounter difficulties in managing your money, as is the case with your budget.

4. Ability to earn money

If you are able to manage the money, will you be able to multiply them? In order to benefit from investment, every entrepreneur needs to know how to use them effectively to develop a profitable business over time.

5. Ability to follow new trends in your branch

Entrepreneurship is growing rapidly, therefore, a successful entrepreneur will have the ability to track the changes that take place in his domain ,to always be one step ahead of competitors. Even if your business is currently experiencing great progress, be mindful of what's happening around, keep up with new technologies, and simplify the workflow of your employees, if it's the case.

All entrepreneurs are having a strong desire to do things better and improve products or services! They are constantly looking for improvements. They are creative, innovative and resourceful.

6. Intuition

The ability to identify opportunities, to see things that apparently have no meaning, potential business sources, is a quality of entrepreneurs; they must have insight and after their business has been developed to a high level of stability, this because of the changing of the environment for which you must find answers before, be at least ready to react in time to maintains and develop your position on the market industry.

7. Increased work capacity

A good entrepreneur is responsible not only for his own destiny, but also for his family or those with whom he works together; hence, he must be the first to take up the job and the latter to end his day of work; the entrepreneur must have the ability to accumulate new knowledge, both in terms of management (strategic, financial, accounting, administrative, human resources) and in the domain in which he operates (innovations, new markets and products, new sales channels, etc.)

8. Ability to learn from mistakes

Entrepreneurship involves something new that you have not experienced before; any new activity also resultes mistakes; the entrepreneur carefully analyzes the reasons, the causes of the mistakes, so that in the future they will not repeat. At the same time he also takes into account the mistakes of the employees, whom he evaluates, monitors, guides so that they can also learn from the mistakes already made.

9. Knowledge of the sales process

When you start your own business, knowing to sell is very important and can make the difference between success and failure. Whether you like it or not, every entrepreneur is a sales person and is put up every day in the selling situation. You have to sell your leadership and vision skills to the team, sell your customers' products or services, sell your idea to investors and potential partners.

Although it may seem simple at a first glance, being a good salesman is not easy. You must be able to support your ideas with confidence and enthusiasm, be convincing, do not hesitate, know how to negotiate.

10. Good communication skills

The entrepreneur is the one who leads and represents the business and the firm; he has to communicate externally with clients, suppliers, other collaborators, he is the one who presents the seriousness of the business he leads. Equally important is communication with his own employees, to which he must correctly pass on the business objectives, the decisions taken; messages must be clear and understood by employees.

These are just a few of the qualities and skills of a successful entrepreneur. If you want to be among successful entrepreneurs, you just have to show perseverance and have a desire to learn.

So it is very important to achieve a mix of qualities to determine success.

Hi @allesia, to be an entrepreneur must be able to fight the fear that is within him, and be careful

Indeed, we can not be entrepreneurs if we do not risk in life. The key to success is the ability to figure out when it is time to take risks and when we have to retire. If we do not like the risks, it is clear that we will have problems in overcoming our fears so that we can get where we want.

So it is best to follow our instincts, if we do not trust our own ideas, then who would have it?!

In life we lose and win, but if we do not risk we will always ask "what would it be if ...?"

Thank you for your opinion. All the best for you!

I'm sorry, but the truth is, entrepreneur is not as fancy as we are used to see in instagram. Entrepreneur is lonely, Everything is on you. You're the last line of defense. If anything happens in your business, it's your fault because you empower every employee to work.

If you think entrepreneur is something like you can't breathe without it, then it's for you. There are thousands of reasons people say to you that what you're doing will not work, but there's one reason it works. What you think, that matters most.

Thank you so much @allesia for sharing this.

It is a very good point of view @rezoanulvibes.

Not everyone wants to become entrepreneurs, many are happy with their daily routine. They do not trust their own forces and they do not know how to take advantage of opportunities, to invest because they are afraid.

Indeed, entrepreneurs also make mistakes in business and learn from them.

Thank you for stopping by.

Hey @allesia

Thanks of this wonderful article.

I agree, entrepreneurs need should have various qualities. You have already talked about it.

As an entrepreneur we must know how to earn and manage money because that's what make us different from other people.

You must be discipline in order to achieve your goals. You must know how to use you time and resources and get most out of your limited resources.

As an entrepreneur we must be productive and good at time management.

Am I right @allesia?

Yes, you are right @asolopreneur, these are the secrets of business success. Being an entrepreneur means working for you, doing your own program, being your own boss, and controlling your future. There are so many advantages.

As Steve Jobs said, "The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do."
