Easy Model Making: 3D Wooden Millennium Falcon
This is a fun, easy model kit I bought at a store in Hong Kong. It's by a company called Incredi-builds. They have a lot of these laser-cut, wooden models you see occasionally in book stores and boutique shops. I've built a few Gundam models that are super fun, but also a ton of work and at times will have you cursing at inanimate objects. I do like more complicated model projects, but I saw this and was just like you know, hey there Star Wars, you're coming with me.
Most importantly this is a model of an awesome thing, but it's also fun in a "flying casual" kind of way. It's do-able even if you have no model-making experience. A big part of model-making that people get scared of is painting, but finishing a painted model is very satisfying. Building a model and not painting it just feels... well... like breakfast without coffee, music through crappy earbuds, drinking alone... if you're British, tea without crumpets, whatever. A small kit like this would be a good thing to try your hand at painting because it's simple and fast; you don't need to commit to expensive equipment or a lot of time. You build it completely by hand, no tools required. No messy glue or small parts.
So here's some pictures of the packaging and the components out of the box. It also came with a high quality info-book about the Millennium Falcon which is cool, there's a few pics of that below as well.
This would also be a great gift for a kid, the box says ages 12 and up. Of course, your kid is a genius, so she could probably do it at 8. It was about $22 usd.
A nice little book; it has some info about the old and most recent movies, as well as some ideas for painting.
So here is where I am so far, I just built the frame. I have to stop here and go get some paint. Once I get the supplies I'll post part 2. For the paint, all you need is some gray and white spray paint, and black, red, gray, and beige paint pens. Like I said, this one is easy, you don't need an airbrush system or actually any brush at all. Paint pens are awesome.

Good luck with the painting of this 3D Wooden Millennium Falcon. I think it will be the most difficult for an impression of originality.
yeah, actually it would be fun to give it an original paint job. thanks for the idea
Looks like quite detailed model even if it is just lasercut flat sheets. Good find. Looking forward to see the finished product. Following you.
The wood model is easy to assemble and snaps together to form a dynamic, displayable 3D version of this fan favorite Star Wars spacecraft.
That was a pro level description. nice.
This looks like a lot of fun
yeah, it's kind of a no brainer but sometimes easy is good
