Ben Askren Walking Away From The Sport Never To Have Fought In The UFC
Ben Askren is arguably on of the best Welterweight fighters on the planet. He is undefeated and was the most dominant Bellator MMA WW Champion. There was a time when there was talk of signing him in the UFC however it never happened. You'll find many reasons for this, some say it's because Ben is a boring fighter, others say it's because of Ben shitting on the UFC and Dana (Which definitely doesn't help).
It's a great shame he never got to fight in the UFC. We'll never really know his placement among the very best. Maybe he is the best WW ever, maybe he could've beaten GSP, and maybe not, maybe he's just a mediocre WW who doesn't even break into the top ten in the UFC. We just will never know. It's kind of a sucky situation really. On the one hand we have his ridiculous record, but does it mean anything if he's fighting no names?
