Everything looks so purple haha
And yes dear, it is so purple in reality!
Oh that looks crazy! It actually looks like a purple carrot. O:
Hmmm yes it's a root vegetable, but not in the carrot family! Purple carrots are great to work with.
Never seen it! Looks like a really fun color to pimp up your salad with though!
It will really pimp up your salad + adding a touch of natural sweetness! I'm glad i made you discover something you were not aware of, that's the goal of the series of BIZARRE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES AROUND THE WORLD.

Thanks for passing by.
Haha. Will definitely stay tuned!
No idea where I could get my hands on it though.
In Berlin i'm not sure you will find it, but sure to find it in Hawaii or Japan. Though i've seen it in France at the Rungis market when i was there in 2014.
meep
Ooh! Hmm, well maybe next year in Hawaii then!
That's great! Do share some pics if you found it!
It's in the same family as taro.
In Hawaii, taro (known as kalo) Is used to make poi.
In the US, where I live, it can be labeled Okinawa sweet potato.
In the Philippines, we call it 'ube'. I love it. We use it in many desserts. A really popular dessert is 'ube' ice cream. Yumm!
Thanks for posting!
