RE: "Thou Shalt Steem No Posts Above Thine Own" - And, Like, Especially Don't Resteem Posts "To Bookmark Them"

Unfortunately, too true for minnow-level accounts like me. I've altered my approach to timeline real estate because of this conclusion.

But as we've talked about before, the short-term growth of this network depends on established accounts increasing the steemflow. The more that happens, the faster this pie grows. Hoarding Steem seems silly right now. If you want to speculate, cash out and move dollars all over the cryptocurrency scene as a legit trader.

I'm still piecing a few narrative points together but there's maybe some correlation between post values in the past and the values we see today regarding this issue.

Sort:

" the short-term growth of this network depends on established accounts increasing the steemflow. "

I think the flow is currently constrained mostly by lack of voting activity/effort. It's difficult to find content, and many users have just set their favorite authors to auto-vote.

Yeah, that also seems to be causing a bottleneck. Definitely multiple factors. There are some interface design changes relating to curation that might help to move eyeballs and voting power where it will have the most legitimate benefit to growing the strength of the network. I still have a lot of reading to do in regards to platforms advancement the Steemit team intends to roll out - have any good links on that topic to share?

I can't really provide any good links, but the main upcoming feature would be "communities". There's not much in the way of public information on it, however.

You could also look up HF20; that will be the next "major" change to the network.

For sure, thanks for the heads up. Honestly, with something new and small like Steemit, reliable/official information can be a little sparse
