Help! How can we "un-delegate" Steem Power?
The Issue
I've delegated 200 Steem Power to minnow support project, an awesome concept I totally believe in. My delegation entitles me to an automatic upvote by @msp-lovebot. HOWEVER, the upvote has never worked for me 😢. Not once...no idea why.
My username even shows up in their list of supporters, here's a screenshot.
For whales or even "dolphins"* (see bottom), 200 Steem Power might not be much, but it's over half of my total - a big deal for me!
My Question
How do we take back our Steem Power? I'd imagine this would be simple and straightforward to figure out, but I couldn't find any instructions for this on Minnow Support's page.
The delegation page even states:
"you retain control, and can always take it back at any time should you wish — this process takes seven days"
What I've tried
-I checked with my "know-it-all" buddy Mr. Google... he didn't have any luck either 😂
-I recently asked on one of @uwelang's related post - he said he wasn't sure, and @public-money suggested I reach out directly to @minnowsupportproject but I couldn't figure out how to do that either. CC'd them so they can see the answer here, which some helpful person will hopefully tell me 😁
-I was able to get through to @sammosk , one of Minnow Supports' moderators. He (or she?) responded right away and said it was fixed, but it still hasn't worked after that.
As much as I love Steemit, I must admit some basic functionality is tricky to figure out.
Hi to un-delegate is logically the equivalent to delegating zero SP.
So the way to do it is to use the same page as you delegated but enter the mount as 0 SP. This then gets calculated as 0.000000 Vests, copy and paste the URL as before and enter your key.
Every delegation over-rides the previous one. So for example, if you just wanted to change your delegated SP, then you would need to enter whatever figure you have in mind. The system then automatically calculates whether you are due some back, or whether you are giving more.

Ohhhh man that makes so much sense, and is so simple! It's like when you re-upload contacts in your email marketing software, the new versions of the contacts (ie, with new fields) will over-write the original, even when the new fields are blank. (I work at an email marketing company, that's why I thought of that haha).

I just did that, entered 0 amount on minnow support, so you're saying in 7 days, the 500 SP i delegated will be available in my wallet again?
Yes!
the 7-day period is to avoid the same SP being used multiple times by different users.

Ugh! I was beaten to the punch! I did the same thing just recently as well. While the concept is great and all, I can't help but feel a bit down that my one upvote beats all of the auto upvotes that they give. It's a great initiative for sure, but it's just not for me I guess. I used to delegate 1500 to them but I have canceled my delegation last week. I've delegated it to @minnowbooster though, you might want to check them out.
Glad we see eye to eye - as always. What do you mean beaten to the punch? You mean with this post? I was just honestly super confused.. guess I should've just asked you lol. That is a big chunk of change.. now it looks like I finally DID get upvoted by lovebot but it was only 8 cents haha.
Oh shoot sorry! I meant to include that in the comment. I meant beaten to the punch regarding answering your question haha! It took me surprisingly a long time to figure it out, too. So I'm just so enthusiastic when it comes to answering people's question about it.
aaaah yeah gotcha, i work in support and sometimes I do the same with my colleagues haha
I used to work in support, so maybe that's the reason for the intersect haha!

God I wish I could just say that I'm swinging by Europe next week. I'll keep that in mind though once I collect enough funds to travel :D

So, after you un-delegate, how long does it take to reflect back in your wallet? It has been about 4 days, I show 0 vests, but my SP in my wallet is still locked as delegated so I can't do anything else with it.
