The Peruvian Inca Orchids are a lot like the Xoloitzcuintli in many ways. For instance, this dog breed is also hairless and they used to be worshipped by the ancient cultures. Sometimes, these smooth-bodied dogs have crests of hair on their head, tail, or feet, but often, they are mostly bald. They are referred to as orchids although they are fully developed dogs. It was believed among superstitious Peruvians that receiving a hug from these dogs could actually lead to some form of healing.

There are very few of the species left as most of them died off during the Spanish conquest in Peru. The dogs survived in rural areas where the people believed that they have a mystical value, and because of their reputation to treat arthritis. Only a few of them still remain and are being preserved in various animal orphanages, so acquiring one is pretty difficult.

These dogs are lively, alert, playful; charming and well mannered around the house. Peruvian Inca Orchids are generally a healthy breed.

There were two dogs just like these at one festival I visited. Acted strangely. Something between fear and lashing out :/ Scary!

Dogs bring so much joy, we must treat them well, mines currently curled up on sofa looking shifty, makes me smile, walkies soon.

Love your dog, friend. It is more loyal than a human friend.

Maybe its pet dog ;-)
