You send STEEM to the bot. We have a tool to help you and many posts explaining it :)
Thanks for the reply. I think I understand how to rent from the bot. I meant how do you place a request to rent directly from another community member? I would like to enter the amount of SP I'd like to rent and the rate I can pay. It looks like you should be able to do this under the "Market Requests" tab.

Market requests are where orders go that cannot be filled directly by the bot. It all works automatically. We are working on specifying your own price at the moment.
