Duluth's Arial Lift Bridge.

While waiting for a local rescue to come and take Hiro to a temporary foster home, we tooled around Canal Park a bit and I snapped some pictures of our Iconic bridge. I hope you enjoy them!

This thing is massive and impossing. It's the gateway from Lake Superior to the Harbor on the Hudson River.

When you're close to it, it's larger than life. It allows 1,000 foot long Lakers and Ocean Freighters to pass under the same beams that carry cars across.

If you come to Minnesota, do NOT confine yourselves to the cities. We have so much more to offer than a silly mall. ;)

We got to see a ship from China go thru there . I need to upload some pictures!! Was an awesome thing for us to see!

It's pretty amazing to see something as long as a city block gliding by!

It doesn't look much pedestrian-friendly

It is I promise. Next time we're down at Canal Park I'll get pictures from on the bridge. 💜

First thing I noticed was the sign that bikes must be walked across the bridge, so it's not allowed to bike on the road itself? And if so, are the sidewalks too narrow for bikers to bike there? Then I noticed a support beam is going right down to the sidewalk, eating up like half of the space there. Is it wide enough for wheelchairs and prams to pass? What happens on snowy days, do they clean the sidewalks for snow, or do they deposit the snow from the road on the sidewalks when cleaning the road?

I think that in most of the world, cars are prioritized and nobody cares about bikes and pedestrians, quite bad IMO. I do get quite annoyed with the sign "bikes must be walked across the bridge".

A giant digression, sorry for the ranting :-)
