Adventures in Mining | Volume 4

I've finally recieved my first round of payouts from my mining activities!

From my earlier posts, which I'll link to below, I added my first mining-dedicated card to my rig:

I haven't been keeping detailed records of mining time, and power drawn, but I plan to figure the time invested shortly for the return I've gotten and I'll share that in my next post! But now, for the exciting part, I present to you, my very first mining payout!

That's right baby! I'm now the proud owner of .5 Monero coins!

At the time of this writing, that's approximately $25 or so USD! Woooo baaabaay! I invested $300 into the card itself as I'm sure you'll remember, so I'm quite a ways off from breaking even, let alone showing a profit...

What excites me, however, is what if Monero reaches parity with Bitcoin? At current exchange rates, that'd be over $1,300 USD! I've missed the wave twice now, so I'll not be taking any profits, all proceeds will be going to growing my mining operation.

I also had my first payout from Genesis Mining recently:

That works out to about $10 USD at the time of this post, so on a $50 initial purchase, I'm looking at around 5-7 months to break even, but that'll vary greatly on how much the difficulty rises on the blockchain!
