"Neuromancer", 1984 [William Gibson] - book review
Hi, the last 2-3 weeks I have been reading the book Neuromant. Cyberpunk genre.
To be honest, a rather complicated book. A lot of new terms. I read it little by little, in parts.
Actually, I want to note that the finish is good. And the book itself resembles the movie Nirvana (1997). In general, it was very interesting to read about artificial intelligence. But I often read without understanding what I was reading)
I also give an interesting term from the book - Event Horizon. Who understands this?
If someone read this book, it would be interesting to know the opinion.
So, for those who didn't get in touch with this novel, I give a description from Wikipedia.
Set in the future, the novel follows Henry Case, a washed-up computer hacker, who is hired by the mysterious master criminal Armitage and the equally mysterious mercenary cyborg Molly Millions for one last job: to help a powerful artificial intelligence merge with its twin into a super consciousness and take control of a virtual reality global network known as "The Matrix".
Warm regards,
Alex Kopareiko
I love this book so much when I read it, Alex :) It was cool, a bit trippy, and it really captured the feeling of interacting with the virtual world so well...
As for Event Horizon, there is an entire wikipedia article written about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event_horizon
It's basically an event that can't be observed by an outside observer, or if you are going into it, it is a point after which there is no return from :)
thanks!
as far as I understand, it's something like was in the 'Interstellar' movie
