Such a wonderful thing to do. It can take a lot of procrastination, excuses, avoidance and worries before we take a leap into something that we know we should do - or have to do. Clearly, this has been calling you for a long time and I'm so happy for you that you have decided to take this leap. How wonderful that you've been accepted into this ashram - i am sure it is going to be an amazing experience and one that will change the course of your life. I might even get to see you next year as we'll be in Rishikesh, I hope, sometime mid year, if all goes to plan.

@julianhorack I totally agree with you. I can remember my father taught us spirituality and mental healing during our childhood and it's very normal here.

Wonderful @eco-alex that you are making this journey and at this stage of your life when you have your place in this world and your creature comforts (glad you have found someone to take care of those for you). With that in place you can go renounce the world for a bit and go on a higher quest for that inner peace and tranquillity. My husband tells the tales of how in India that use to be a normal stage in life when you have lived up to your family responsibilities then you would renounce the world and leave it all behind for greater truths.
I know it must be very hard to leave everything behind but you are aiming for a greater life purpose which is all to the best! Hope you are happy and peaceful and benefit lots from your time at the ashram! Looking forward to your return and the bits of wisdom you may be sharing whilst on your journey!
