Lovely story, @felixgarciap! You introduced some nice conflict here, which is an essential part of good fiction. The conflict I perceived was that little John's friend had an exciting place to travel to, and John had no plans. This creates some really good tension that makes the story interesting. We want to know how it will resolve. What will John do? Will his mother think he's crazy? The story conflict is resolved when he performs the research and presents this to his mother and she accepts his proposal. Well done!
