All Meteorite Falls on Earth since the year 2000

in #meteorite6 years ago (edited)

falls-wide.jpg

This is an almost-authoritative list of all official meteorite falls since the year 2000. I have also included probable falls based on reports from sky monitors and meteorite hunters.

The falls are sorted by year and date. The name, type, and location of fall are given. If the meteorite struck something manmade (a building, vehicle, etc), then the fall is noted with "hammer".

In some cases, such as "Hamburg", the fall has been confirmed, but has not been officially approved by the Meteoritical Society. Falls such as these (and probable falls) are given a provisional name used by collectors and hunters - this name is given in quotes and are usually noted with "unofficial". Names without quotation marks are official falls.

Fascinating! I had no idea that a list was maintained, nor that any organization was actively engaged in monitoring, verifying, and cataloging meteoric falls! Does this agency rely on reports from people to find meteorites, or do they rely on instruments to record the falls?

@therealwolf 's created platform smartsteem scammed my post this morning (mothersday) that was supposed to be for an Abused Childrens Charity. Dude literally stole from abused children that don't have mothers ... on mothersday.

And the reason why is because @therealwolf is disgusting slimy pedophile that enjoys abusing kids. Here's proof of him upvoting child porn on the steemit blockchain. bigbadwolf indeed.
