Metal Weekend - Another Trio of Heavy-hitting Positivity

Another Christian Metal Sampler

Hello again, my fellow metal Steemians! I'm back again with another series of posts, and what better way to kick things off than with another trio of samples from my favorite musical genre. So, get your ears ready 'cause it's time to blast out some loud tunes again for another #metalweekend post.

For this blog I've decided to showcase again some samples from the unfairly maligned and often misunderstood style called Christian metal, and the subgenres it had spawned. Metal music began life as a heavier form of hard rock, and quickly became the anthem of rebelliousness, freedom, non-conformity, and hedonism of anti-establishment marginalized youth, with some even taking their rebelliousness to the extreme by being staunchly anti-Christian.

This prevailing anti-Christian attitude in the metal scene, particularly in the underground metal scene revolving around the extreme metal genres and subgenres largely followed by freethinkers, atheists, pagans, and Satanists, has led to the ostracization of Christian metal bands and their followers.

To metal purists, such bands were regarded as posers untrue to the metal cause of non-subservience and non-conformity, and in some cases even being threatened with bodily harm or death.

So, if metal is an expression of rebellion against accepted beliefs and establishments, with all this evil and Godlessness going on in the world becoming the norm nowadays, the positive attitude and message of Christian metal, serves as a perfect antithesis to the chaos and disorder going on in the world today.

That said, Christian metal cannot be accused of being untrue to the metal cause, when it is in fact being true to the metal spirit by upholding the right to freedom of expression, and providing a means to rebel against its oppressive brethren.
