Bad Communication is a Thing

in #messy8 years ago (edited)

As I watch a lot of people make assumptions and spread bad information about how the RC credits are going to work and what transactions are going to cost, while others threaten to power down....  I am frustrated with everyone!  (Well, not everyone)

Do what you have to do, but many of you are acting on and spreading incorrect information.

I hate to add to the mess of people making messes, but I have heard there is a patch for RCs - 20.4 coming to patch the RC credits.

There isn't any good place to go get info.

But y'all freaking out over calculations that are not functioning correctly.

:)

I know nothing for certain and neither does anyone else.  The blind leading the blind through this!!!

Wait a day or two for it to sort out.

@whatsup,
I don't feel so good with the RC thing at the moment! But it's good, I could see less spam now! So I will feel better just after my RC restored!

Cheers~

Yeah, many are having knee jerk reactions to a calculation that has a bug and isn't functioning normally.

Lol exactly.. In the absence of communication people make stuff up! I’m just hanging low til the dust settles lol

There are a lot of people helping to take a problem and make it worse.

I wholeheartedly agree that it’s important just to report the facts. 👏👏👏

I published a post yesterday telling Steemians where to go to get the facts about their accounts, so there’s no mystery about how much Mana or Resource Credits you have and you can see exactly what it costs to vote, comment or conduct transactions. 🙌

I think that sticking to first hand experience which are verifiable is the way to conduct ourselves, especially now.👍

So you think there is a patch coming?
I figured Steemit Inc was just trying to cut costs. lol

You already know this by now, but yes... the patch has been released.

I read that it will be 18 months before newbs can do more than two comments a day and unless they buy 100sp they can't post at all.

Really! - I read that so it's true...

The timeline has been extended to 2 years, thank you for your patience.

According my calculation, user can post as long as he has 8 SP. Though he can only post one article every 5 days and cannot post any comment.
If want to post every day and don't write any comment, it needs 40 SP.
For 1 post and 4 comments each day, 200SP.

It's not fixed yet!!!! You are calculating bad info from bad info....

Looks like they noticed the problem and adjusting the parameter. I guess Stinc also needs professional system architect.

How will it be next week?

Your post/account is very important to us , you are in the queue for upvote , please stay on the line and our customer rep will be with you shortly.

Current RC restore time - unknown
How soon can things be unfucked - your guess is as good as mine

Have A Nice day !!

It seems like they should rename Steemit to HF20 for a week or two - just about every post is about it! But with all these posts there are many differing opinions and yes lots of false or bias views.

Hey, at least they changed the red warning to a closable black one. Shows that they're on top of things.

haha, it's changed again. I think it is a good thing, but it also somehow makes me chuckle.

I thought these resources were supposed to be set high at first, then balance out over time once the system finds a sweet spot of sorts. That was my guess. Similar to when the reward pool had to refill and our SP couldn't allocate as much as it should have been able to, until the process was completed over the span of many days.

Is waiting really this hard for some people or am I staying calm for no reason?

What they have said:

We might break it.
It will be wrong at first.

That didn't stop some of the more brilliant folks from calculating with bad calculations and spreading bad information.

On the other hand, the flow of information literally could not be worse.

I'm so grumpy. Bunch of jack asses. Grrr.

Too many cooks in the kitchen.

And no chef.

The same can be said for any and all information. Check your primary sources. Secondary sources can add commentary, and then an educated observer can compare that commentary (and indeed other ones) to the primary source, and then arrive at a conclusion...

It is almost like ... the academic model of critical thinking is beyond a large mass of individuals. This is the most joyless part of social media, to me. :)

Poor research, poorer commentary, and then the battens going down across the safe space windows.

Open yourself up to discourse, and grow. You don't grow when you tell yourself the same thing again and again.

Those who are pretending to be experts and doing math with bad calculations are spreading panic. lol.

Not much we can do about it in the absence of real information.

We've got the panic, now we just need the FUD, like people initially saying you needed $500 worth of EOS just to play EOS Knights, when it is marketed as a game for "HODLERS".
