And there is most likely one in your area and you don't even know about it.

This is the practice exams and info needed for Canada ..Just look up the practice exam or the closest ham radio club in your area to get licensed.
I am updating the active node map to include all ham meshnet nodes and locations, but you will need to get your license to use them.
And its well worth the time to get to know your local ham radio operators. You will not find a more well informed bunch of community minded people anywhere.

What is the privacy situation e.g. can you use encryption or transfer cryptocurrencies etc.?
On the public nodes you can use encryption but on the ham nodes you are not supposed to .. but I think we can and should as the groups grow put pressure on the powers that be to allow higher power and encryption on the bands ..also allocate more band width for public use. these are things that are not laws of physics that cannot be changed just laws of money and control ...might be easier to change the laws of physics though when money is involved lol On the node map public with encryption is in red Ham radio is in green....
