The Golden Globe Statue: Another Disappointment

I have brought some disappointing news about “gold” statues to the Steem blockchain.... but I do it for YOU! It is part of my larger effort to educate the world on the difference between real gold and diluted gold.
It may not be groundbreaking news to most people that award trophies and statues usually do not contain much real gold, but it is also surprising litte the average person knows about gold. Especially since until just about 50 years ago our fiat had a direct link to gold.
There are actually a lot of people that I talk to that still think our currency still has a gold backing today!

The Golden Globe statue is not gold.

While the statue has changed over the years, it has generally been composed of zinc with “a spectacular 24-carat gold-plated design” according to golden globes.com.
