Why is it.

I only sell my Bitshares to double my money in other altcoins and then buy more Bitshares even if the Bitshares price has increased since I sold?

Why not trade 4 Trillion of it as Bit-derivatives on Bitshares? We don't need the whole pie just a few Trillions.

" Although that is also my hope, it's not guaranteed. Amazing tech doesn't always win in the marketplace.

Whether it succeeds or fails is up to us to make happen. We have resources and tools, it's time to start using them to make some noise and spread the word. We need to mold and tweak the product to make it appealing to a wider audience than it is. There is much work to do and we need to take advantage of the technical lead we have before it slips away. I like Dash, but BitShares has named accounts NOW, it has a decentralized exchange NOW, it has been a functional DAC long before Dash that includes a more refined governance and "treasury" model (worker proposals) FOR OVER A YEAR. It has been an incubator for projects like STEEMIT, PEERPLAYS, BLOCKPAY and several others that show their face in the rankings CoinMarketCap far higher than the majority of projects there.

So yes, the tech is excellent. The BitShares community just needs to step up our game and create a marketing strategy that wlll let the world know all about it. " - Quote - @full-steem-ahead

I do believe strongly that BitShares has an enormous technical lead and it's slipping away. I am optimistic however that many people, some from the early days in BitShares are returning to help with this huge marketing effort.

It's a huge effort to reduce the scope of what BitShares can do for each market segment it can bring value to. BitShares is many things to different people, and will require breaking it down and prioritizing the scope into manageable segments to maximize the marketing impact.

The challenge is to get out of our "techy" mindset and think outside that box, to broaden our perspective and see things from the perspective of those who we are marketing BitShares to.

We need to shift the focus away from the geeky tech specs and hit an emotional chord by showing how BitShares will benefit each end user, whatever flavor of user they happen to be whether trader, crypto-nerd, Mom & Pop or even grandpa.

I feel flattered that you posted this as an article, thx for helping to bring attention to this! To used a rather tired pop phrase, Let's make BitShares great again!
