Cake Lover's Blog #2: Mouth Watery Sweets and 7th STEEMIT Meet Up (United Cebuanos)

As how much I anticipate when eating sweets it's the same adrenaline I feel that for the first time I can finally meet the STEEMIT community.

The Lapu-lapu teachers decided to come together since most of us haven't had the chance to attend one of the meet ups in Cebu. Me and @georgie84 decided to meet since we live nearby.

The venue was at Marrise Patisserie, Patisserie means a shop where French pastries and cakes are sold.

The cafe is found inside 32 Sanson Rockwell Lahug Cebu City. It's a 6 minute walk from JY square.

Arriving at the venue a feeling of consciousness was so dominant. I was thinking that it would be hard for me to get along with some of the Steemit members. I saw that there were so many people and they all look so young.

Blogger, something I never imagined myself to be. Whenever I hear that word you have to be well traveled, a fashionista, a food enthusiast, and young and free. Something me myself doesn't have. I'm a mother of two, a teacher and a fashion that I only understand.haha

But, here I am. Belonging to this huge community with a lot of potentials to earn. I am just so mesmerized with how this young people have too much knowledge about the platform at their age.

Before it started I took the chance to tour a bit of the place. I love the theme of this cafe for it has lots of inspirational quotes hanging their wall.
In front is a pool, if your in for relaxation and serenity this is a wonderful place.

We have lots of choices of their mouth watering cakes and pastry. I just can't contain the happiness I feel when I saw all those sweets.

I didn't just meet people but I found a family at steemit. People were so kind, it was like we knew each other by birth. People you only see online or someone you just follow finally in front of you.

After socializing @itinerantph instructed us to gather outside. We were divided to 4 groups the newbies, existing member, international and those who wanted to learn about financial stability.

The First speaker was @jassennessaj he discussed about the following:

• What is crypto currency?
• What is blockchain?
• What is steemit and how does it work?
• How can we earn from steemit?
• Steemit etiquette
• The rules of steemit
• Tips to succeed at steemit

There were four speakers for existing member after @jassennessaj it was followed by @manualbot who was the one who introduced steemit to @jassennessaj. The third speaker was @ybanezkim26 who gave us tips of how to make good post same as @thegaillery. She emphasized on writing the other side of a coin not just focusing on the negative side of something but embracing what's good at it.

They are the people I look up to, and of course @surpassinggoogle one of the most generous person I'm hoping to meet.. Since that is not possible yet I'll just have this picture as a souvineer.

This is by far the best experience I had, I know I am not an attentive person. But amazingly from beginning till the end I didn't get bored at all. I am a audio visual listener as a teacher I make sure not just simply discussing my lesson but also show them what the lesson is and make it fun. Because that is the way I learn. But I was all ears, that is how much I was craving for knowledge.

The day ended with a smile. But everybody was full of anticipation of what will Steemit bring us in the near future. We are all hopeful and aiming to have the same success the others have.

Let us all be like a tree that stands firm and strong despite the heavy rain that comes his way..
