Join Us For April Fool's KL Car Free Morning!
What's this KL Car Free Morning about?
KL Car Free Morning (KLCFM) is an event organised by Multigreen Events which is supported by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall to promote go green, stay healthy, grow health-consciousness among Malaysians and their appreciation of a car-free morning in KL.
The first KLCFM was introduced back on 22nd September 2013 and has been continually held on every first and third Sunday of the month from 7 AM to 9 AM at Dataran DBKL (near Dataran Merdeka).
Activites
KLCFM features a 7KM closed road of major streets around Kuala Lumpur's Golden Triangle to all participants from simply walking, jogging, running, cycling, rollerblading, rollerskating or even skateboarding.
Around 140 bicycles have been sponsored by OCBC Cycle for people to use for free but are first come first serve basis by showing an ID with photographic identification to the person in charge. The helmet is not provided for hygiene purpose, hence recommended to bring your own helmet if you wish to cycle.
Beside the main activities, there are also many side activities such as horse carriage rides, Zumba and Lucky Draw which can participate at the starting point (Dataran DBKL)
Parking
There are plenty of parking spot around the starting point and along the car-free route shown on the map below, be sure to come early if you're driving there or just get a Grab/Taxi will lessen the hassle.
It is not necessary to begin the activities at the starting point, it can be anyway along the car-free route but if you wanted to join the crowd, Dataran DBKL is the right place to go
April Fool KLCFM
This coming Sunday is an April Fool (1st April) but in all seriousness, I'll be joining @kokuryo for this KLFCM down in Dataran DBKL and if you're interested to join us, feel free to let me know in the comment section below or contact me via Discord.
