@make-a-whale is a community project to create a whale that always supports its feeders. You support it and it supports you. It upvotes each member once in a 22 hour period. @make-a-whale will post each day, that post needs to be upvoted by each member. There is also a bonus 100% rotational upvote.
To participate you need to post good original content, have a Reputation of 50+ and 500+ Steempower.

About MAKE-A-WHALE
Members Joining - One member a day
MAW will accept one member a day! We want to stick to one member a day because if we open the gates and too many users flood in our voting weight will diminish quite fast. Thus we want to grow slow and keep our upvotes to our feeders high.
UPVOTING RULES
The @make-a-whale project requires constant feed from his followers. That way he can return the favor and feed his followers. This can be done manually or using Steemvoter to simplify and automate the process. That way you never have to worry about missing votes.
You can pick how you upvote MAW:
1. Steemvoter (recommended).
Guide on how to set up your Steemvoter account.
2. Manual upvoting - if you do not like using Steemvoter you can manual vote.
We have worked out a scale that will make sure @make-a-whale always upvotes you with a bigger upvote than the one you used to upvote the daily post, if you post on average once a day. Thus, the fair scale ensure you always win!
There are some members who support the project with larger upvotes and this is greatly appreciated! The more we grow the more members we can recruit and give better upvotes. Thank you for the extra support!
MAW will check the upvotes each SUNDAY. Skipping more than 4 per week will result in a reminder. Failure to catch up before TUESDAY will result in being removed from the voting pool for the week. Thus, it will be your own responsibility to make sure your upvotes go through to the MAW posts. =)

Since we are a small group of awesome content creators there be a daily resteem. We will follow the same list as the Roundabout High Five upvote and resteem in that order. Share some love and some upvotes for your fellow MAW members! Check out their post, comment and upvote if you like it!

Dear all whales-to-be
May I recommend that we look into the posts that @make-a-whale put an effort to resteem and maybe give them some extra votes?
I know that we all get a 100% vote by @make-a-whale, and we are not obliged to vote for each other in person. But I thought it would still be nice to get to know each other and vote for each other from time to time.
I visited 3 of the resteemd posts on @make-a-whale page, I upvoted the 3 of them and commented on all. I got back only one reply and not a single comment of upvote from the 40 + members (except from @oleg326756 that I know of) on my resteemed post here.
Do I sound like a sad complainer? Well, maybe I am.
But am I wrong in what I say? I believe not
I can't imagine how that would hurt us at all. I think it will make us grow even more and faster and also become steemian friends in the long run, so we can support each other in the future as well.
I am sure most of you are busy and maybe have a bot upvote @make-a-whale, so you never know or see what is posted here and who are your whale-to-be companion travelers. But taking few moments of your day to read and appreciate each other work is essential for steemit growth and ours.
I am sure you all would appreciate for your posts to be read, otherwise why spend all this time writing them?
I hope my words will reach you and we will start communicating more in person and through @make-a-whale

That sounds like a plan I am up for it. I am all in on interaction. Personally I think comments are the soul to the posts it brings it alive. So I am willing to participate in this.
But what if you do it like this. There are 44 members in our group. Some posts 1 times while some posts multiple times.
We could select 44 posts daily which we think deserves a greater audience one post from each member and then we Resteem those.
But state it clear that only quality posts would be selected.
This way everyone in the group will also have an incentive to participate in all entirety.

I was thinking to vote the member that MAW bot upvotes (which mean each of us give 2 MAW upvotes everyday. One for the MAW bot and the other for the MAW member of the day. This way we are not overwhelmed by too many extra votes every day)
But I also like your idea. Its a great idea to resteem quality posts from MAW members which help increase their exposure as well.

That is cool too if I am not wrong MAW member of the day who is receiving 100% vote is @orcheva so we could all visit her profile and add upvotes for the posts we like and also provide some valuable feedback.
This should be relatively easy.
But instead of just one member per day let's make it 3-4 members per day as we have about 44 members to cover. If we take it one by one it could take. A long time to reach the other end.
I totally agree with you if you want to increase the number of people we visit. I have already upvoted several MAWs today plus comments I received.
I am just not sure how everyone will feel about it if we increased the number. If they do, then it will be even better :D
We would be just increasing the number of members to visit per day upvoting on their posts will be left upto their decision.
They could decide to upvote about 10-50% depending on what they think about the post.
So that way it won't be hard on their voting power too.

Lets start involving more members and spreading the word then
So here is a summary to what we do to increase the interaction in the MAW Guild
1- All MAW members has to upvote the MAW bot everyday (using the fair scale)
2- All MAW members are encouraged to visit and upvote posts of 5 MAW members (upvotes are between 30%-100% using your judgment on the post)
4- Commenting and resteeming any MAW post are extra gestures that will be very appreciated and reciprocated
5- Make sure you choose different MAWs everyday. (For example, start from the Top of the list to bottom then back to top etc)

Well said! I am having trouble following anybody because my head always spins around my own progress. But that thinking is not helpful and doesn't build a community. Recently I started to engage more and my channel has exploded. I will focus more on MAW now. I think we can create a nice guild out of this.

Couldn't agree more, I also have trouble keeping up with everything, every day just feels shorter than the next and don't really want to lose more sleep than I am already losing =P The guild idea sounds good. We need to have a brainstorm session! =)

And I think we should begin to become a guild that works together beyond just our auto-upvotes. @Theleapingkoala is right with what he said in another comment here. Maybe we can do something that MAW itself supports so we get a little return back for community building. I have no concrete idea right now but there is much we can do that goes beyond resteeming and curating.
Agreed, if we work together there is a lot we can accomplish. This is one of the reasons why I love Steemit.
The most difficult part is the organization which is usually the bit where most people fail. We need to develop a system step by step. Using the MAW Discord chat helps with that.
That my dear friend is indeed the most difficult part... Member involvement... Wish more people would join in on the Discord channel. They do not realize by interacting more and working together we can grow more and benefit everyone involved.
The problem is that everyone is in different time zones. When I am available to join the chat most people are offline (CET)
I am used to work with people over many time zones. The key is to keep an eye on the chat. There is enough overlap usually to find some mutual time and if not the conversations are available when you come online to add your five cents.
Get used to have longer conversations like in the old days when writing letters to each other. But now the letters come every morning and are from many more people talking all together.
You are right, kinda swamped at the moment but I will try to go on Discord more often.
Couldn't agree more! We need to work on something. The resteeming and curating is nice but there is no connection! We need to feel the love and spread it! Will brainstorm some ideas and get the ball rolling soon!
