Mathematic Art (Remember the Spirograph?)steemCreated with Sketch.

I am currently delving into the art of mathematical equations. I didn't listen in math class but I am certain that if it was taught to me in a more visual context, I would have excelled! I love to draw but never in a million years would I have figured out that each mathematical equation creates it's own piece of incredible art. Just by linking lines together on a grid, you can create some of the most intriguing and mind blowing pieces. I took a sampling from Mathologer and Google to show you what I mean. Enjoy!!! It brings me back to the days of sitting on the living room floor with my brand new Spirograph!

The colors, the shapes, it was magical. Well, it may seem magical but did you know that each equation in math represents a visual piece of art? It's so stunning to see what a multiplication problem becomes when it is all graphed out. Let me show you some cool stuff.

In real life the Mathologer is a math professor at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia and goes by the name of Burkard Polster

What an amazing post. I am going to look into this more deeply. My daughter has chosen Math as her degree program in college. Going to share this post with her. Thank you for this fascinating information.

Wow! Thank you for the wonderful comment. Your daughter is going to discover so much amazing stuff! Wish her all the best.

Thank you for your kind reply. I will definitely pass on your well wishes.

I loved the spirograph so much as a kid that at 62 I just bought the newest version just so I could play with it. lol

Good for you! There is no age limit to having fun! Enjoy it.

I am and my grandson at age 6 asked me what it was about so now i am teaching him how to use it. Fun!

I love that! My kids always had crafts and art set up on the kitchen table and now in their 20's, they still love to doodle! Have fun with your grandson.

Thank you, I love it when adults still love to be creative, it is so relaxing

More adults should play! It would make for a better world!

I'm 65 and I've wanted a Spirograph ever since I was a kid. I finally found one in a Goodwill store for $2.00 a few days ago. I'm enjoying old age. :)

you are the second person to tell me they found a spirograph recently...I am looking for one to buy as soon as I go to town today. Have tons of fun!

Nice post! More than one person has commented that my signature looks as if it was done with a spirograph :-/

Thank you and I think a signature like that would be fabulous! Dare to be different.

I have made some particle emitters that look like spirographic art, I was trying to make a mouse trailer and a glitch got be running down a rabbit hole of radial symmetry

Would love to see that art! Have fun experimenting!

have you heard about fractals ?

I sure have. Some super interesting stuff.

really ? wow, yes it is interesting, i myself make fractal
