Who cheats the most?

Wow wow! I am daring with this post. I have been pondering this question for years now and about Five years ago I started doing some research about it. Why? Because our biggest fear whether we are a man or a woman when we are in a long-term relationship is to get cheated on.

Do you remember this crazy American TV Show called Cheaters? I remember it, for some reason I used to love it and seeing the cheaters being caught red handed was such a climax for me that sometimes if I find it on TV even now, I will still watch it. However, the reactions of the different parties were sometimes shocking and some hilarious. Some “Cheaters”, although caught with their pants down would completely deny that they are cheating, they would even deny that the person caught on tape was not them but an imaginary twin brother or a cousin; the other party, I will call them the “Cheaties” would cry and curse and beat up the man or curse the woman even more and try to beat up the man they were cheating with. Most of the time when asked why? These people answered: “It’s because you were not there”, mostly for the women and “she was just there” mostly for the men. Appalling or not?
Knowing that most of these men and women were busting their arses working extra hours to be able to feed their family or taking night classes so they could better themselves for their family, makes it even worse. But I say that the “Cheaties” all had a lucky escape (for the ones who left) because not all of them left the first time around and we would know this with a three minutes conclusion at the end.

So who do you think cheats the most: men or women?

Being a woman and having most likely been cheated in the past by my ex, I would obviously say men, but do you think this is true? Let’s have a look.

Statistics all reveal the same truth and the same one you all probably have in mind. According to different figures gathered either in the Uk or in Europe and even in America; the statistics do not lie: Men cheat the most. In the UK, a study conducted by an Italian company shows that 45% of men cheat versus 32% of women. So our minds are at eased now, we have won and proven that men in fact are the biggest cheaters and we even have figures to show it.

However, and I do not know if you have noticed it too but it is the low gap between the men and women that shocked me. Only 13% difference! Wow! This is not very big and us women are not as innocent as we claim to be.

According to different researches who have interviewed different people and couples more than half of men in a relationship have admitted to have had kissed or have sexual relations with another woman other than their partner. Women, we are not far behind them because it seems that, given the opportunity we are most likely to accept the advances of another another man, it might not be straight away but it eventually happen.

The difference between a man and a woman is that; men usually get caught and always seem to show signs that they are cheating. Women are good at seeing these signs in their men and will always and most of the time find out that he is having an affair at some point during their relationships. Women tend to turn into private FBI agents when they sense that their man might be having an extra-marital affair and nearly always catch their man in the act.

Women on the other hand are experts in the art of teaching and lying. Therefore, researches are not sure about the reliability of the figures they have found. A woman can have an affair for years and no one will usually find out, unless she decides to confide in some friends who in the end will betray her. Taking for example Farrah Fawcett who has admitted that for 11 years, she had been cheating on her husband and this one had no clue about it and neither the people around her. Because we are masters at “lying”, we are also masters at keeping the house going, the husband happy, the kids entertain and time to fool around with another man between breaks at work, work trip abroad and/or at work does.

So think about it women: are we all as innocent as we claim to be or do we all have a Farrah Fawcett in us waiting to come out? Are we so different to men?
