A Tour of "Saras Mela" on #Marketfriday - A Glimpse of Indian Handicrafts.
Manmade beauty which is worth appreciating.
For this #marketfriday, I will take you on a tour to a local Handicrafts Fair. Called as Saras Mela, this is an annual fair organised every year to showcase the talent and art of local artisans who could not make a name to the bigger stage.
Generally belongs from a poor section of the society, they do posses some exceptional talent however, it takes a lot for them to make a mark in the society. It was sunny day and I took upon the chance to go to the fair with my family.
It was not crowded though it was expected to get pull.lot of visitors on weekend. The moment I get inside the ground, I get to see many make shift small tents and many items spread across the open ground. But I begin to visit the small stalls one by one. The first one I came across is small household decorative items.
The stall is full of different items that were kept at home. Each of them quite beautiful. There is another stall that have different lamps.
These were the designers lamps,, mostly kept at home for adding some artificial beauty. There was another stall too that have women ornaments. Which I assume not my kind of stalls. But many women make it their place to spend more time.
In case you want to get some name plate on wooden base you can it make one of your choice too in the fair.
To make sure it was manually made, a man make all arrangement to write in front of people of their choice.
The fair is spread across one of the biggest ground of the area. Look at everywhere and you will find people crawling and moving from one stalls to another.
If you get tired wandering in such big stage or setup, you may find a little place to take rest.
These were handmade chairs made up of bamboos. Funky painted and tied to make you feel comfortable. There were many other set up of such air, which simply looks stunning in any home set up.
There were bamboo basses too, which can be use to keep some artificial flower on it. A complete bamboo set up to your living area.
One can find artificial flower too in such big fair. Everything is available to make your living beautiful.
Well I was enjoying my walk. I am not there to do shopping, I went their to see the real beauty of man made things. And by spending quite an hour I realised how beautiful the fair is.
There were other artefacts too which is real beautiful made up of wooden and pop.
There is also a shoe shop, all designer.
I am falling short of words writing each item displayed. However, I took a more clips which is better to share her for #marketfriday.
I am sure @dswigle or any other person who have arts knowledge would love to spend as much time as possible in these type of fair. For the record this fair o happening in our city every year on first half of December. Artist and artisans from different part of india brought their item for selling and taking bulk orders of their hard work.
After spending good half day, i think it was wonderful place for #marketfriday. There were specified food zone and other cloth items, which I missed to take photos. There is dedicated zone for kids too to enjoy some rides and playhouses.
Really enjoyed to have such fair for family outing.
And after witnessing some amazing manual work and design I left the place, hopefully will try to visit next time.

You are so right!! These kinds of markets are always interesting to me. The handcrafted beauty is not something you see everywhere. With automation so much faster and seemingly more consistent, vendors are using that route to see their wares. On top of that, it is cheaper, which is what selling is all about, right?
The bottom line.
What you have shown me is pride in workmanship! I love the lamps shown, and really loved the bamboo furniture! I have never seen any like it before. I really love these kinds of markets as the prices are more reasonable and the merchandise made by those who stand before me.
I loved everything about this post and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you sharing parts of your culture with us. Thank you!
I appreciate the time and effort put into making a quality post like this. Thank you!
#MarketFriday loves you!

Hope you may come down one day to have more shopping than usual 😉
No doubt the manual work is more appreciable than automation and they deserve to get suitable return for their work.
