Just walking out your front door you will stumble on stick food , so why is food on the stick so popular in the Land of Smiles well probably because that barbecue odor is so inviting , easy to carry and eat on the go.

It's a very convenient food for the vendors to prepare they usually per-cook the food maybe from home and then just warm it up to your order also it's cheap and very quick to cook which is certainly convenient for the Thai people on there lunch break or for us foreigners after a heavy night on the drink.

There is no shortage of variety of meats whatever you might like they will have chicken , beef , chicken balls , fish balls , sausages , chicken hearts , tofu , squid , crab , mushrooms and the list goes on....and they are all a good tasty snack weather it be for breakfast , lunch or that mid-night or early morning snack after a few beers.

These Pork or Chicken Sausages on the stick are one of my favorites , barbecued then cut up eaten with a bit of cabbage , ginger and chili mixed with some garlic sauce or chili sauce ....ohhhh....yeah a couple of serving does me fine.

Now if your really hungry and want to make a pig of yourself i suggest these extra , extra large chicken or pork sausages mixed with garlic and pepper with the preference of what ever sauce you desire.

And one of the most popular in Thailand and i do think world wide is the Satay Chicken on the stick marinated with soy sauce , curry paste , lemongrass and condensed milk left to soak in over night before it's barbecued and then served with some peanut sauce and pickled cucumber salad. This is a must try if you haven't already.

It is said that foods on the stick in Thailand from the street vendors is the best , freshly cooked day in day out and they always sell out so there is no old stock to be served but many visitors to Thailand are very cautious and that's understandable but for me who has been living here for awhile i live of the street stick food so much more tasty and cheaper then restaurants who probably keep it frozen up for awhile and out of date before it's cooked. So give me that street stick food any day.

Wow, so much good looking food! I would definitely love to taste some.

You would not be disappointed that's for sure there's a great selection to satisfy anyone :))

That's how it should be :)

Stick food, I've never seen such an abundance. I'm thinking how much patience you must have to do this food on sticks. A dream!

I agree lots of patience to get it looking good on that stick but i am sure these people have many family members to help out with it :))

Yes, I think so. All the family work.

Awesome Work!

Thai's do seem to have a much better selection and probably there is not a day that passes me that i will at some time of the day grab a stick or two on my lunch break or on a night out with the boys it goes down well with a cold beer...hehe.
