Robinson's Place Tacloban for #MarketFriday
Hello #MarketFriday Lovers,
For this week's #MarketFriday I'll take you to the nearest mall from our house. Also I'll introduce to you our cherished Filipino food.
We went to Robinson's Department Store to buy my husband's suit for a convention which we will attend next week, and for his socks too.
He has been trying on different suits, looking for the shorter arm length ones. Fortunately, this brand which specializes "barong," the national costume of the Philippines, makes suits with Filipino sizes.
And this is the one he got!
To our delight we also saw for the first time his favorite brand of socks--Bally. We have been looking all over our city but we could never find this one. How blessed we are that this mall now have this!
Because my husband was happy to find his suit, he treated us for dinner. Hahaha!
He wants food which are cooked the way they cooked. So Bagnet and Beyond is his choice--a restaurant which offers food from the north of the country.
Bagnet is a dish which is a boiled, air-dried, and then deep-fried crispy pork belly. This dish originated from Ilocos but is now considered as a top favorite among Filipinos.
This time we tried a set for four persons.
The set includes sizzling bagnet, binagoongang bagnet (bagnet in fermented fish sauce), poqui poqui (egg and eggplant dish), four cups of rice, four soups, and four iced tea for only P685 (13.30 USD).
We thought it wasn't enough so we ordered two extra rice and two empanada. But we couldn't finish the latter so we took it out with us. Their set is sufficient for everyone.
Everything was perfectly done, I forgot all about my diet.

Yes, the mall is quite huge. Actually, it's the biggest in our city. And they say that it is the highest grosser of all Robinson's mall throughout the country, maybe because no other competitors are in. Hehehe! 😊
Yes, the food was extremely yummy. I'm not really into meat, but this bagnet is an exception. I ate quite a little more. Good thing that this doesn't happen everyday, or else I might be larger than our refregerator now! Haha! 😂😂

I know exactly how your husband feels with his socks! Once you get a brand you like and it fits you well, there is no want to search out another brand!
If you are not built like a giant, it is hard to find clothing to fit you properly! The world is made for 6-foot men! I like the suit he selected. The color looks good on him. How lucky for you that he treated you to a nice dinner!

Yes, my husband is quite meticulous with his socks. He wants his comfort. And I understand. But it's very hard to find. We can only buy it if we are in big cities. So, it is always in our list if we happen to visit there.
Hehehe! Asian sizes are always different from other parts of the world. Haha! 😁 That's why westerners are having a hard time to find something that will fit them here. Maybe that's the same case with us if we visit your place. We are so tiny. Hahaha! 😂 My husband's problem is that he has short arms, so it's either he has to have custom made or a very Filipino-based brands.
Sometimes I misjudge what my stomach can only take. But its okay, it's not wasted anyway. We can always bring it as a take out.

We have the Small and Tall shops here where it caters to the small man (with short arms) to the very tall. I am sure you are right though. The Asian man is built a bit more slight.
But you should try going on Amazon and ordering the socks online. They may even be cheaper that way!

Products at Amazon are usually from outside the country, so the shipping fee is rather costly. We do have local online shops, but you can never know the quality of the product until it arrives. It's more of like "risk" to buy there. There are good products though (but some are not).

It's always my pleasure! Honestly if you get onto Amazon and put the product in with the name brand, it may surprise you that it may be made in China which the shipping is not that bad. It's worth a try and when you Google it, Google it by the brand and it will tell you where the closest is and you can see where the cheapest is. Good luck! And yes small and tall shops right here close to where I live!

Oo nga, Onesimus ang nahanap namin. Pang Pinoy kasi ang size nila. Ang iba mahaba ang sleeves length eh.
Sabi ng husband ko maganda daw sa paa ang Bally tapos matibay pa. Hindi rin siya nagfi-fade agad, at maporma din. May dating din talaga.
Oo, ang sarap ng bagnet. Nakakainis! Panira ng diet talaga. Tsk!
My brand nung need ko pa magformal wear pero ngayon d na need. Gusto shoes nila jan dati kaso wala na ako magustuhan sa mga designs nila lately.
Matry nga din kun meron ganyan dito.

Onesimus may shoe line? Di ko alam yun ah! At parang walang ganun dito, puro barong, longsleeves at suits lang.
Oo sir, itry niyo po ang Bally. Ako kasi ang taga-laba. Kaya napapansin ko rin na matibay. 😊
Oo may mga shoes din sila tas ibang accessories. Limited nga lang minsan choices dito.

At least meron. Dito kasi wala. Siguro ganun sila kung store talaga sila. Dito kasi nasa loob lang ng department store ng Rob, kaya siguro yung best sellers lang nila..
All socks are the same to me but great your husband took you all out to a restaurant. Btw that mall looks very luxury and the food delicious.

Haha! My husband is quite meticulous with his socks. For him this brand feels good to his feet, it doesn't fade easily, and last long. The prints are also nice.
This mall is the best we have in town, it's also the largest. Though there are malls in other cities more luxurious than these, but they are far.
And yes, the food is delicious. It is one of my husband's favorite restaurant.

I joined the market Friday last week but there are not many markets here and I hate shopping. Perhaps I will once in a while if I bump into something.
