Mines View Park for #MarketFriday
My #MarketFriday for this week is a tour we had in Mines View Park where we bought some street foods while sight seeing and we rented costumes for pictorial purposes.
First is this ice cream sandwich. Baguio City and its neighboring towns have acres of strawberry farms, hence they our proud of their very own strawberry flavored ice cream. They have ice cream in cups but we preferred this one--icecream in a bun! And it's yummy.
Next, in which we enjoyed ourselves so much, is the rental of Igorot costume. Each set (headdress, necklace, blouse, and skirt) of costume is worth P25 (0.50 USD). So we posed with all the poses we can think of!
Igorot are various ethnic groups that live in the mountains of northern Luzon. The term "Igorot" means "mountaineer" in Tagalog (our national language). They have a distinct way of life--they have a unique looking thatch roof houses (and even dresses), and they have kept their traditional religion on their own.
Last is the picture taking with the horse using an elaborated headdress. Our little wanted to ride a horse so much, and we gave in. P50 ($1) for 3 poses. Not bad.

The costumes are nice. I remember being surrounded by little boys and girls wanting to pose side by side for some money... Of course, I obliged, could be that they needed the money for school. At any rate, they were nicely smiling and the images I had were wonderful.
Oh really?!? Have you been to the Philippines? Or that experience was in somewhere else?
Our little ones were so cute with the costumes. I think they could pass to be native Igorot-looking kids! Hahaha! 😂
Thank you so much for being part of #MarketFriday. It is such a joy to read through your post, knowing very well how much time and thought goes into making one. I enjoy reading them all and sometimes I get a little behind. This week in particular, I had issues along with everyone else and things kind of went sideways. But, hey!! Where is the fun of life if there isn’t a challenge, right?
To be fair, it was a week of too much work and not enough time when steem finally righted itself. So, I am here late and apologize. This doesn’t mean your post wasn’t awesome! You know it was!
I am a little unsure how voting on comments is going to be, but, it is looking dismal and most of them will be worthless. I voted nonetheless, but, not sure how it all comes out in the wash. So this week, I will be giving a bigger tip to you to make up for that. I need to sit down and figure out what they have done to the system as your post is worthy and they have just made it harder to reward you.
