Long, good day

It's great to have a sense of accomplishment when one reflects on the day. One such was yesterday, long though it was:

A double batch of three fruit marmalade: that's juicing and shredding 2 - 3 kg of citrus, etc.

Before getting going, I had to sort through my stash of jars: for my pickles and preserves, I only use recycled jars. I am so grateful to the band of dedicated collectors who bring or send them to me, and to The Husband who gets the difficult labels off and sprays the lids.

I always get a particularly warm feeling when jars with my labels are returned. Something is working and I get to wondering how many times the jars have been used.

Then it was time to make muesli for the breakfast pots which now also include my homemade yoghurt.

The day ended with a visit to the local and supper of cottage pie topped with cauliflower and butternut. And the piece de resistance: fresh peas from the garden.

so many jars and so much hardwork. Amazing.

Woow, the jar of the day. So many jars

This is so beautiful @fionasfavourites!!!!! Such hard work, but there is nothing more satisfying than seeing all of those jars full of fruits, veggies jams, jellies and marmalades. I'm sure your friends bring them back, they're hoping for a refill, lol I would say a job well done my friend!

I must say that you certainly had a more than a day's worth of work! Juicing at reading takes a long time, especially when your working on three different fruits! Sorting through my jars is an ongoing project. My grandmother always used recycled jars and so I have always done that, with the exception of around Christmas time when they are gifts. Only then do I have out myself to buy some pretty jars to give away. Taking off the label says never been my job, thank God.

You never have to be worried about being late because as you can see I am running late myself and for this I apologize. It sounds like an amazing day, especially ending with a cottage pie and fresh peas from the garden. I think I need to go into the Garden today and pull out something yummy delicious! Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to post into the market Friday challenge. It is always appreciated! As always I hope you have a most wonderful day!

#MarketFriday loves you!
