We Buy The Right To Look At ...

In life it's said that everything is for sale. It also means that everything can be bought, right? If it's sold and bought, if it's traded ... it means that it falls into the market category, #marketfriday.

This means a very wide range of subjects, to my delight, because today I want to buy the right to look, to look at the flowers! There are many places where flowers can be seen: on the street, in the garden of others, in our garden but especially in ... botanical garden!

I had the privilege this year to visit the Botanical Garden many times. The largest and most beautiful botanical garden in Romania, the Botanical Garden in Iasi. The first botanical garden was created in 1856 but its history has been greatly shaken, it has been set up and abolished several times, the present form and location being from 1963. It has an area of over 100 hectares, being one of the largest in Europe.

Although we cannot buy flowers from the botanical garden, we still buy the right to look at the flowers. The most beautiful flowers!

The last visit was last week. Each time, every visit to another group of flowers were the stars. Now the turn of the dahlias has come. I know the dahlias, a close relative was even a farmer several years ago but I have never seen such a large variety of flowers.

I'm now away from home and I don't have much time to talk in detail about this garden and flowers. The only solution is to let the flowers speak for themselves. I chose a small selection to show you what I paid to look at.

Dahlia is a genus of bushy, tuberous, herbaceous perennial plants native to Mexico. A member of the Asteraceae (or Compositae), dicotyledonous plants, related species include the sunflower, daisy, chrysanthemum, and zinnia. There are 42 species of dahlia, with hybrids commonly grown as garden plants. Flower forms are variable, with one head per stem; these can be as small as 5 cm (2 in) diameter or up to 30 cm (1 ft) ("dinner plate"). This great variety results from dahlias being octoploids—that is, they have eight sets of homologous chromosomes, whereas most plants have only two. In addition, dahlias also contain many transposons—genetic pieces that move from place to place upon an allele—which contributes to their manifesting such great diversity. Source

I managed to post only with and about flowers. It can be said that it is a little unusual for a man to love flowers so much. I remember a cartoon with a huge and frightening bull that whenever he saw a flower he would smell it, admire it and be especially gentle. His name was Ferdinand. My wife and friends often tell me Ferdinand when I stop to admire and photograph the flowers.
