This so cool @dswigle! What a special event. We visited Gettsburg twice and our guide was amazing! So knowledgeble, really brought the battlefield to life. This however would be incredible, to actually see humans shooting, retreating and hearing the shots fired along with the smoke. The faces of the people you have captured in the pictures ring true to the faces of those years ago, although I bet the soldiers were all so young. Love the photographer, barefoot and waiting for those long time lapse photos. A rare and special day, wonderful for both young and old. Thanks for sharing with us! :)
Oh, it really was fun. I have been several times and even went to the 150th anniversary one a few years back. There are different ones in different States. I find living history like this fascinating!
I did love the photographer, he was in character for the entire day and made everything so real. The entire event is a learning experience in photography, history, and so many other things. I think in reality they were young (just like the 17-year-olds going to Vietnam) and the very old, defending their side. Thanks for coming by and saying hello!
