RE: 3D Televisions Being Phased Out Of Market

in #market8 years ago

I'm not the biggest fan of 3D, even in movie theaters. It doesn't add much for me and sometimes the vision just gets blurry. This is one of the reasons I never really saw the use in getting a 3D tv either.

Not a loss to me, this!

3D never inspired me either, not at home at least. I think good content and 3D recordings are missing. Maybe even my brains are not 'seeing' the 3D movies correct. When watching Ice Age 4 3D in an Imax theater, I really had the impression I was watching a lot of 2D screens in front of eachother, rather than a good 3D film. I do not have that much experience with other 3D content, so I can not generalise. But for me, it didn't play out good for the 3D equipment and content industry.

I must say I'm quite the fan of 3D TV, just because it can add an amazing depht to sport events etc. But of course that unfortunately doesn't give me the money to buy one...

The movie theaters however, I think don't utilize 3D all that well. The effects in movies tend to be too exhagerated and also the theater is not an ideal situation for the current technology imo.

I don't like it either, it was just a gimmick. I'm okay with it being phased out.
