What is a Submarine? Are they a boat?
They are watercraft that operate underwater; which large a number of crewed.
Probably, You might have read Captain Nemo– Classic Scifi novel By Jules Vernepublished in 1870.

Submarine are often refer to as Boat rather than ship. Why they are call U-Boat , ( U stand for Underwater, I guess )
Submarine were firstly used during WW 1 , ( 1914-1918 ).

Too confine
Have you ever been to the submarine museum in Groton Connecticut? They have Nautilus, the first nuclear submarine that you can tour. Just the front end, not the engine room aft. they also have replicas of older submarines. If you like subs, you'd be amazed by the content there.
