Not needed: you can buy and transfer MAPX directly using steem-engine. Soon you'll be able to delegate them too.
This transfer Steem to the @map10k account method of buying is only for 1 week. Manual process. Maybe @rycharde will let you donate coins to others by writing a clear instruction in the transfer memo - that's up to him though.
I figure I'll delegate MAPX to people I want to sponsor once steem-engine makes this possible.
You mean like a referral link? Not at the moment, though suspect there will be such a smart contract available soon. Although with just 10,000 tokens, this MAPX program will be quite small, so am not sure the long-term use of a referral - will consider it in the next project!
One thing I can do is, say, add the equivalent of 1 MAPX to your upvote for one month :-) This will need to be done manually, so your referral must write a comment stating you as referrer. This will only apply to new tokens issued by MAP10K.
Don't forget to stake the token on steem-engine so you get your upvotes.
