MakeMeSmile Week 11: Drops of Sunshine
It's been a long week. As I'm typing this, it's now past midnight and everyone is sound asleep. The world is so quiet, the fan and the rhythmic ticking of the clock on the wall act as a soothing white noise to the soul. While my usual subconscious routine would be to replay what's been going on throughout the week, I tell myself- not tonight. Right now, all I could think of is how grateful I am to the Big Guy upstairs for upholding me despite the inner turmoil that has been rising up against me like the waves in the sea. I would like to end the night with smiley faces and memories of happy conversations with my firstborn.
Happiness is when Ali puts her newly bought Hello Kitty glasses on me and says, "Mama, take photo!" and poses with her signature dimpled smile.
Happiness is spending some one on one time with her when baby Asher is napping. One of the fun things I love to do is to tie her ponytails. This was a funny do as I joined in and did one myself. Haha!
Happiness is putting a big smile on her face and hear happy squeals when you announce, "let's go to the playground downstairs!"
While life can be filled with ups and downs, it is a deliberate choice to smile. It takes more muscles to smile, and not only will it light up our faces, each smile is like a drop of sunshine to the heart. ♥
