Natural supplementation! Multivitamin from food - Smoothies # 4
What to do to avoid shortages and colored multi-vitamins? Well, you can provide yourself with a plenty of vitamins in a tastier way - in food!
It's not so difficult, you just need to know a few simple tricks. You already know (or should know prom my previous posts) that it is worth using a lot of greens, season dishes and eat good fats.
Another habit that is worth introducing?
Smoothies!
A large number of people justify themselves that they do not eat healthy because they don't have time for it. After all, it's easier to swallow one tablet and forget about vitamins intake for the whole day.But is it healthier than a well-balanced diet? Oh no.
A great option in the case of a lifestyle where there is no time to cook, there are various types of smoothies - cocktails providing a huge amount of nutrients. It is much easier to "smuggle" 3 leaves of kale in a delicious cocktail with banana and raspberries, than in a salad or a dish. A well-composed smoothie can successfully replace one meal, and the possibilities of cocktails composition are infinite. It is certainly worth adding leafy vegetables such as the aforementioned kale, parsley, spinach, or any other green leaves, and (preferably seasonal) fruits: currants, raspberries, apples, pears. Fruits can also be frozen, it ok! Smoothie can also be enriched with seeds, seeds, avocados, nuts or peanut butter, but you have to reckon with the fact that the cocktail with these ingredients will have higher calorific value. It may be an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on your caloric needs. Different anti-inflammatory spices will also work perfectly in your smoothies. In addition to a better taste, the cocktail will greatly enrich its nutritional and health value. The base of the cocktail can be ordinary water, kefir, freshly squeezed juice, kombucha, carbonated water, coconut water, buttermilk, milk, vegetable drink or yogurt. It is so easy!
Some of my patients (I'm a dietitian) who cannot imagine starting the day with breakfast (it's just to heavy for them) accept the breakfast only in the liquid form of smoothies.
Remember not to rely only on fruits, but to always have additional sources of vitamins and minerals in the cocktail! It is definitely worth making friends with the blender and to introduce smoothies full of health into your menu!
