Is Hierarchy Compatible with the Left Hand Path?
If you've been around the Left Hand Path (LHP) of occultism for long enough, you will have encountered the concept that you cannot be genuinely LHP if you are a member of an Esoteric Order. Now clearly there are plenty of individuals who walk the LHP that are active members of an Esoteric Society, but is that an appropriate way to engage with the LHP? There are explicitly LHP oriented Esoteric Orders, but does that even make sense? Can one submit oneself to the external hierarchy of an esoteric organization and still consider oneself a Left Hand Path occultist? If you said yes to that question, how do you reconcile your answer with the general understanding that those on the LHP do not submit themselves to any external entities? Are humans not also entities? Can one legitimately practice self-deification and also submit themselves to the spiritual authority of some mortal human they have probably never even met in person? Can you walk the LHP and also pay someone regularly in order to secure ongoing permission to participate in a lodge of some Esoteric Order? While we're on the topic, how many hierarchical Esoteric Orders have regular elections which give every member a vote to decide who holds the leadership position? I would argue it has more to do with reasons or intent in joining an order than in the fact that you joined an order. Revocation of Charter or Warrant usually has a story behind it, I always thought it would be funny to run off with the Charter itself and be like "MWHAAA ! I HAVE STOLEN THE VERY PARCHMENT IMBUED WITH THE POWER!"....I would probably try to explain to the order what they were "doing wrong" before starting a "new order" or making an entire schism but I really think that yes, individuals do join hierarchies. The age old questions asked when you enter point to that fact in most traditions. The age old obligations deny the fact and cast the initiate on the RHP, even if only for a minute. I really, really, really like adding the T.A.Z. as a Ritual Element and think your method is well-founded BTW.
