The ITTY-BITTY Shell; The SHELLS of SAN CARLOS, Mexico
Shells, BIG and SMALL line the San Carlos beaches in Mexico!
In case you have never heard of San Carlos, it is about 7 hour drive Southwest of Tucson, Arizona! The quieter calmer waves of the Gulf of California allow these beaches to have HUGE unbroken shells.
I just had to enter this little shell in the #macrophotography contest.
The itty-bitty shells along the coastline were my favorite to find.
I just was in awe with the detail each of them had. So perfect yet so tiny!
You can see this shell amongst the larger ones to get a real idea of the size!
We decided to save our favorite ones and put them in a mason jar! When we get some hairspray or nail polish (a lacker), we are going to apply it and they will make a gorgeous bright shine bringing out colors we didn't know! (But, that will be in another post!)
Just LOOK at these gorgeous shells mixed with the rocks!
These beauties were found just down the way at another beach!
Here is another Itty-Bitty from the collection above...square markings! Amazing!
We just LOVED San Carlos, MEXICO!

Awesome close-ups! :) Just make sure to follow the schedule for the individual photo contests. Today is vehicle photography and architectural photography ;) Macro is tomorrow.
Am I to post in the day then? I was but I thought I was late with the time difference.
The window for submitting is always from midnight to midnight Central European Time. That is from 6 pm to 6 pm the next day here on Riviera Maya :) (you probably have a bigger difference as you are on the Pacific Coast).
You are two hours ahead of me...so if I submit at 7-8am in the morning that should work. Okay Ill go back to the way I did before. Thanks for pointing that out. Just seemed like I had some pretty amazing photos and crazy how I haven't won for a while considering I won on my very first photo submitted! I know there are more people and the competition is steep now...
Yeah, the competition is now much tougher with possibly up to thousands of photos submitted daily. I rarely win these days. But its ok as there are some really amazing shots by great photographers. Good luck to you! :)
I feel the same way...amazing shots! I must have just been lucky when I won the first time with my first picture!
