Island Life: Windmill Viewpoint
It was sunny that afternoon, so we decided to drive up the scenic road to the Windmill Viewpoint. This hilltop has a small pavilion where you can sit and enjoy the magnificent Andaman Sea. It is beyond me why this viewpoint is not that popular, but I do not mind if that's what it takes to avoid the swarm of tourists. The views are really gorgeous, perfect to think about the bills you need to pay, the work you left at work, and the chores you need to do. I'm just kidding! LOL
Okay, segway over, back to what I was saying. The perimeter of the pavilion is covered by bunches of fountain grass gracefully dancing with the sea breeze. Below is my entry to #macrophotography contest hosted by @juliank.
Glancing south, is a vantage point of the quaint Ya Nui Beach. This little beach is popular to those who dislike big crowds and distracting water sports. Although, there are canoes/kayaks available for rental, but no loud jetskis of any sorts. There is also a small restaurant where you can order food and drinks to be served to your lounge chairs. Fancy, right?
Windmill Viewpoint is tucked between Nai Harn Beach (north) and Promthep Cape (south). If you are not familiar with this place, you can easily miss the small road from the highway.
Experts would say that the sleek turbines are not really windmills. Yes, that is a fact. But let's leave that trivial matter to the people who named this place. This place is called Windmill Viewpoint and that's that. LOL
Located at the southwest coast of Phuket, this is my favorite part of the island. This drive will take you to secret beaches and serene viewpoints; all while taking in the gentle sea breeze and verdant landscape. Don't forget to roll down your car windows for the full experience!
