This is my todays contribution to the contest #macrophotography by @photocontests.

After several attempts I was able to photographically capture this dragonfly female last summer at my small pond. I almost had the impression that the animal was playing with me. Again and again it flew over to me while it was laying eggs (hence I know it's a female) and then floated in the air for a few seconds at almost the same place on the spot. Nearly always the young lady was gone when the Nikon's autofocus almost fixed her. It almost looked like a game that I always lost. I don't tell you how many photos I took of the bare water surface - dragonflies move quickly in the air. I managed to score one goal and I want to show it to you here.

Incidentally, I don't believe that the whole thing was a game for the dragonfly, but rather that she wanted to convince herself time and again that @pipurilla was indeed no danger for her and her brood.

Dies ist mein heutiger Beitrag zum Wettbewerb #macrophotography von @photocontests.

Nach etlichen Versuchen konnte ich dieses Libellenweibchen vergangenen Sommer an meinem kleinen Teich fotografisch festhalten. Fast hatte ich den Eindruck, das Tierchen spielt mit mir. Immer wieder ist sich während er Eiablage (daher weiss ich dass es ein Weibchen ist) zu mir herübergeflogen und ist dann stets für ein paar Sekunden an fast dem gleichen Ort auf der Stelle geschwebt. Fast immer war die junge Dame dann wieder weg, wenn die der Autofokus der Nikon sie fast erwicht hätte. Es sah fast aus wie ein Spiel, bei dem ich immer verlor. Ich will Euch nicht sagen, wieviele Fotos ich von der blanken Wasseroberfläche geschossen habe - Libellen bewegen sich schnell in der Luft. Einen einzigen sehenswerten Treffer konnte ich landen und den will ich Euch hier zeigen.

Dass das Ganze für die Libelle ein Spiel war, glaube ich übrigens nicht, eher, dass sie zwischen den einzelnen Eiablagen, welche sie an verschiedenen Stellen um den Teich herum vornahm, sich immer wieder davon überzeugen wollte, dass von @pipurilla tatsächlich keine Gefahr für sie und ihre Brut bestand.
