Money can´t buy lovesteemCreated with Sketch.

'And in the end it´s not the years in your life that count. It´s the life in your years.'
Abraham Lincoln

There are these little shiny moments in life that make you remember what really matters.

I have spent 4 days off with my family and friends. Quality time. Some days which have made me realize once more that the best things in life are free.
My current status: I feel blessed.

4 reasons why money can´t buy happiness

1. - There is nothing stronger than family

Did you ever pay for the smile of your little baby? Did you ever pay for a hug of your brother, a deep and profound hug while the world around the two of you stopped running? Did you ever pay for a good advice of your dad which gave you self-confidence and made you grow from one second to another? Did you ever pay for your mom´s laugh when she got aware of one of your latest crazy experiences? Did you ever pay for being yourself at home? Did you ever pay for this unconditional love only family can provide? I mean I cannot believe you ever did.

2. - The best things in life are free

Picture: Me and the best daddy in the world after surfing some winter waves somewhere on Earth

Did you ever pay for a sunrise? For the very first ray of sunlight which crossed the universe to come over and touch your skin? Did you ever pay for the morning kiss your partner gave you when you were still sleeping? Did you ever pay for the song you could not forget about and you started singing (completely wrong) under the shower? Did you ever pay for the feeling caused by the sand under your naked feet walking across the beach? For the wind at the coast  which twirled your hair? For the smile of your dad when he came out of the water after his very first surfing session? Did you ever pay for the midnight talk with your friend sitting at the kitchen counter? Did you ever pay for these wonderful shiny moments which happen to us every single day? I mean I cannot believe you ever did.

3. You cannot buy love

Did you ever pay for falling in love? Did you ever pay for these butterflies in your stomach that drove you crazy and made you feel alive, for this overwhelming emotions which actually cannot be explained by words? Did you ever pay for that moment he/she looks at you from the corner of his/her eyes? Did you ever pay for the moment when he/she held your hand and you felt so safe? Did you ever pay for the moment when he/she said something and you were thinking exactly the same? Did you ever pay for holding someone´s heart in your hands? I mean I cannot believe you did.

4. Happiness isn´t a destination - it´s a way of living

Don´t seek happiness. It will find you. You cannot create it. Happiness comes to those who are ready to receive it. In the meantime: live your life, you only have one. Kiss your mom and dad, hug your brothers and sisters, make love with your love, laugh with your friends, dance and sing under the shower, shake hands, send lovely postcards, smile at somebody you don´t know - and don´t care too much about money. Once you have understood that you actually don´t need material things, you´re going to be the richest person on Earth.

I hope you enjoyed my little family album :-)
Have a wonderful Sunday, Steemians!

Thanks for your support! I feel even more blessed now, having received such amazing replies ;-)

You deserve it! You are always delivering great, refreshing and original content.
In my opinion Top10 on Steemit.
Maybe Top5.... 🙂

Oh you are too kind!!!
Thank you so much, that was really cute ;-)

No problem. Just telling the truth... ; )

Money can't buy love.

Someone has never been to the Red Lights District.

'Someone' doesn´t know what the difference between love and sex is......
1:1 :-))

In all seriousness, though. I can appreciate the message in the post, and agree to a degree, but also disagree.

A man with nothing but empty pockets will find it hard to find love. A man has to able to provide, or at least send out the signal that he can provide, in order to find love.

Nobody cares about a man with nothing.

I understand your point. And yes, we (girls) feel attracted by men who are able to 'provide'. Regardless, when time passes by you start realizing that there are a lot of other things that have at least the same importance. If somebody is able to make me laugh, he wouldn't need to provide me with anything else, for instance...

I get your point but (even if it might hurt, to admit it) when the man with nothing choose to look at what he does have he would see his life is full of everything. In my opinion it's all a matter of perspective. @schattenjaeger

Another lovely post @surfermarly, with a great message :-)

I appreciate your kind feedback! Thanks for stopping by ;-)

perfect title and i have to agree so much, humans need to realise different between LOVE and other interests from sexual desire, money, reputation etc..... hence why do i comment here lol (trying to be funny...) @surfermarly

Dankesehr! Freut mich zu hören, dass Du ebenso denkst ;-)

ahhh and I am thrilled you now speak even German to me :-) - ich denke absolut wie Du!

Maybe I speak German because I am German...;-))

Danke für (mit ü) die Blumen :-) Canary Islands - where the endless spring has its residence. You?

Really lovely and very personal post @surfermarly. Thank you ... a big thank you! It was strange looking at you with 'sunshine', are you aware how different you look in that lovely pic? In a very good way!
Here's a pic you might like, just to say thank you from a very special part of my world!

Oh wow thats a beautiful shot!!! Another 'priceless' moment :-)

Maybe I look different after having dyed my hair (from blonde to brown)... Thank you for your kind words anyway :-)

That was beautiful and I couldn't agree more! I saw an interview with a lady that was over 100 and going strong. When asked how she does it, she replied: "Every morning when I wake up, I have two choices...I can be happy, or focus on my problems. I choose to be happy." Words of wisdom from someone else that figured it out. It isn't about money, it's about love. Every kiss from my grandkids is precious. Every time my dog puts his head in my lap... You get it!

That's it. We are our choices.
Thank you for the nice adding :-)
