kurot sa puso

Kurot sa puso is a Filipino term that means your heart aches due to an event or circumstance.

I was wondering how to celebrate my birthday this month, I then remembered something I really wanted to do, to volunteer, visit or donate in any animal or rescue center.

The biggest animal rescue center her in the Philippines is PAWS it an acronym meaning Philippine Animal Welfare Society. PAWS is a volunteer-based non-government organization whose goal is to prevent animal cruelty through education, animal sheltering and advocacy. PAWS believes that the creation of a more peaceful society starts with the widening of mankind's circle of compassion which includes animals, thereby envisions a nation that respects animals, practices responsible pet ownership and protects wildlife, as per their website.

So I set my mind to go to PAWS on my special day.

I was accompanied by my boyfriend who also loved animals but sadly was never able to have a pet since his mom don't want one.

We bought some cat and dog food first and went our way.

When we arrived I thought it's a big place but the simple and plain office shows thay are not well funded.

I arranged to have my donation registered and we were allowed to see and say hello to the animals they care for.

I am a cat person, my boyfriend is a dog person but we generally love both kinds anyway.

The first cage we saw is for the dogs.

They have their names and pictures posted since they are for adoption.

Once the dogs saw us approaching they immediately went near the edge of the cage and made themselves noticed as if saying adopt me or pick me pick me.

One dog that captured my heart was PERSUS, he poses for pictures and follow you around the cage and just look at that happy and soulful little eyes.

One of the staff said they are for adoption even the cats. Sadly my current apartment does not allow pets. So we might go back and adopt him once we moved to another place that does allow pets.

Those sincere and innocent eyes, those wagging tails when they see you approching.

Some even gets your attention by being makulit and cute.

I know all of them wants a family. If you are thinking of getting a dog or a cat consider adopting.
It will make one of these pups eternally grateful.

I love Persus, I hope to adopt him in the future. 💜

Now we go to the cat cages.

Some cats are so welcoming and that they want to be petted. The staff in the office said not to touch them probably to avoid being bitten but I just can't resist. Being I had been also a fur parent I just can't resist and I did pet them. Shhhh. :)

Some of the cats are outside the cage just roaming around. I believe those are the trained ones and are exposed to humans more since they are the sweetest while those in the cage are quite aloof of they are being treated for something.

Like this cutie in a cone. She caught my attention as well since she purrs loudly and is quite sweet too.

My heart goes to these kitties.

Such sweet, gentle and affectionate creatures.
If only I can take you all home, I would.

Praying for them to find their forever home.

It was getting late so needed to go home to avoid the heavy traffic in rush hour.

As we are about to leave these cats followed us, so heart breaking to leave them and the feeling that you wants all of them to be adopted by loving homes. I am praying for their adoption and campaigning #adoptdontshop movement.

It was indeed a worthy day, a sense of fulfillment and joy envelopes my soul.
