True Love is very Unromantic

True love is very unromantic. It is acceptance, commitment, loyalty, sacrifice, patience, giving selflessly, placing your partner’s welfare before your own. That is why true love is easy to see, and everyone notices it.

True love is not grasping, possessing, nor clinging. Humans need space, time and freedom to be themselves, to create and to grow. No relationship can survive if one party constantly feels the other breathing down his neck, or if he feels tied down all the time.

When we truly love people, we must meet them where they are, not where we think they should be. We must give them what they need, not what we think they need to have. We must respect them for who they are, not who we think they ought to be. That’s love, true love.
