Self-Love is about discovering oneself

It is said that self-love is the highest form of love, because if one is not capable of loving own-self then how can that person ever genuinely love someone else. Which I also believe is very true. There are certain foundations of Self Love like acceptance, care, setting boundaries and listening to one's inner voice. If we have this foundation strong, we will be able to discover a whole new version of us.

No one is perfect and the very first step to self-love is about accepting ourself the way we are with all our flaws and negatives and positives. Who does not have flaws, we all do something or the other, so it's perfectly fine to accept that weak part of our self and care for it. Learning our likes and dislikes and cultivating healthy practices and boundaries will allow us to have a good mental health. When we live in denial of something, we are trying to run away from it, which keeps disturbing our mind and builds up stress. When we accept it the way it is we are very much relieved in our mind, our stress levels are reduced and we can think better with ways to improve our self.

We all have an inner-voice, which is constantly talking to us. It depends on us if we want to nurture that inner-voice or we want to silence it. If we keep silencing it all the time it will stop talking to us, but if we nurture, it will keep guiding us and it will make a better version of us.

Love starts with our own-self first and then it spreads out from us to others, so it's very important to nurture our own soul and body first before taking care of others. This brings wholeness and contentment into our lives.
