What an insightful video and a great reminder about mindfulness as a parent. I really love how you speak about honouring the needs of the child and ourselves - what a beautiful way to frame our day-to-day actions. While we do have "toys" we don't have nearly as many as most and they were all given to us. We often keep them out of sight, only offer a few, and have over half packed away. We don't have the space but we also love letting our kids explore, discover, and practice their skills. Aside from books, they always seem to enjoy the most mundane objects, like a foot stool. We laugh when others interfere to "teach" our kids to crawl. We love watching them naturally move into these abilities while others impatiently try to force them to use to move their hands and feet.
