I hear a lot about discord but do not use it often enough.
I should head over and check it out. Like you said, the community is important as steemit. You will only be successful by the company that you keep.

@dadview, there are some great communities on Discord. I have joined about 6 different channels related to Steemit.
I am not active in all of them, but each provide an opportunity to meet new people.
