Long Exposure From Our Lounge Window
Not too many months ago we had to move house, meaning a whole new homestead to try and bring up to operational standards. Our new home is right on the main highway, north to south, along the eastern edge of Lake Taupo.
New Zealand, being a relatively new and underpopulated country doesn't really know what multi carriageway highways, autobahns, or freeways are. Every day and through most of the night freight trucks rumble past us on their busy way having only one lane to deal with. Like haemoglobin in the veins of industry.
We have already grown used to their passage. Like the sounds of waves, that you can hear on a windy day when the trucks go quiet, from the lake shore that is now only a 90-second walk from our front door.
While this isn't the best photo ever we think it captures the essence of our locale.
