Electric Reflection

in #longexposurephotography7 years ago (edited)

Cathedral Rock and Oak Creek are lit up by a spectacular night time thunderstorm in beautiful Sedona Arizona. Thunderstorms are a marvelous, powerful and sometimes a destructive show of natures raw energy. This particular storm was amazing and also my first attempt to photograph lightning. It turned out to be a very memorable experience.

Absolutely, the shot was great. It reveals your skill on photography.Hope to see a lots more.

Wow. Amazing shot! A little grainy, but.. Still quite stunning! Was this scanned from a negative or a slide?

Hey Paul, this was shot on that high saturation ultra 50 negative film. Thanks!

electricity with calm lake. nice combination.

Whoa that is a very energetic photography!!
Was your tripod grounded ;-)
Beautiful shot really awesome with the
silhouettes and lightning almost looks like
another planet 👍

It is sort of surreal looking. I think that tripod had rubber feet on it. It was 20 years ago. Thanks for the reply.

The image came out spectacular with a touch of mystery. The photos of the rays are very beautiful. I am particularly afraid of seeing the rays personally. In the Lake of Maracaibo - Venezuela, a spectacular phenomenon called "Relampago del Catatumbo" occurs, if you have time you can look for it, it is impressive..

I have experienced some frightening moments while photographing lightning. The storms in Catatumbo are the same type of convective storms we have in Arizona during our summer monsoon season.

I suppose so, so that the photographs look beautiful you have to take risks sometimes.
